[Photo diary] How amazing the night view of paper-mills around the shinfuji-station is!

未分類

Hello world! This is “Yocean”, just an amateur photographer.

This time, I’m going to tell you about the night photos of paper-mills around the shinfuji-station.

There are a lot of paper-mills in the Fuji-district because there are plenty of water resources from Mt. Fuji, and paper industry has developed through the ages. These factories have been around for a long time and are very old, so they look drab and faded in the daytime. But at night, the atmosphere changes drastically and becomes near-futuristic.

As always, mirrorless camera (X T-20, Fujifilm), lens (XF18-55mm F2.8-4 R LM OIS, Fujifilm) and a tripod (MKELES5BK-BH, Manfrotto) were used for taking these following pictures.

Then, please enjoy these pictures!

Night view spot of the factories around Shinfuji-station

(1) is “Tadehara-bridge”. You can see the night view of Taiko paper factory located in the northwest from the staircase of the bridge. It’s about 15 minutes walk from Shinfuji-station.

(2) is “Around Fujisan-messe”. You can see the chimney of Nippon paper factory on the east side from here. It takes only 10 min. by walk from Shinfuji-station.

At last, (3) is “Around main gate of Nippon paper factory”. You can see the huge boiler of the factory on this road. It’s also about 15 minutes walk from Shinfuji-station.

[Photo 1] Night view from Tadehara-bridge

Since I found two nice chimneys of Taiko paper factory, I took an upward photo.

It was a bit windy on that day, so slowing the shutter speed made the smoke coming from the chimney more impressive.

If you shoot smoke like this, I recommend enlarging the down-wind side of the chimney, because that makes your photos more active.

Then, at the same place I looked downward and took a photo.

Since there is the track of JR Tokaido-line right next to the paper mill, I released the shutter at the moment the train was passing in front of me.

Seeing with naked eyes, it was just a train, but photographing with slow shutter mode, it looked like to a maglev (magnetic levitation train) running in near-future place.

[Photo 3] Night view from Fujisan-messe

To change the location, I went around Fujisan-messe. observing around here, I found the chimney and the boiler of Nippon paper factory.

At there, the curving road in front of the factory was really attractive, so I shot the light beam following the road when a car was just passing by.

I think red and white of the chimney and the light beam are very cool!

Changing the location again, I arrived at the main gate of Nippon paper factory.

I was thinking a photo composition while walking around. Then, I found a good spot to shoot the set of the chimney, the boiler and the tanks.

It seems like they are no longer the things of the earth but of the lunar base. lol

[Photo 5] Space colony in Fuji-district

Continuing the exploration of the Lunar surface, I had arrived at the front of the big boiler.

Since I was overwhelmed by the size of the boiler and the brightness of the main light, I decided to center these objects and shot upward.

I think the boiler got a strong presence because of the starburst effect of the big light. It quite looks like a space colony on the moon.

Conclusion

There are a lot of photo spots to take night-factories scenes in walking distance from the Shinfuji-station. So please try to go there too on the way to the Mt. Fuji.

And then, please be careful not to cause an accident, because the night in Fuji-city is darker than you think. Especially, the road in front of the main gate of Nippon paper factory is busy with many cars. So, concentrating to get nice photos with the tripod could be dangerous. Phew!

Thanks for your reading the article through to the end.
